Faith Rewards: Assignment To Oil Birthplace Azerbaijan

Father God is indeed great! After  three years of time off , the  Company I have worked with ,recalled my services to work with them again. T’was  a glorious moment in April 1997 !

Saipem [Oil Pipeline Company] had offered me a job assignment  in Azerbaijan a  country  known to be where the Ark of Noah landed , (supposedly in  the Mt Ararat in the Armenian border). It was  a state in the former Soviet Union and  was the world’s number 1 Oil producing field at the turn of the 20th century. Oil derricks were sprouting everywhere! Perhaps  John Rockefeller had gotten his wealth from there.

It was also a source of the best Persian carpets in the world. Yes, indeed it was a blessing to have been in that perfect peaceful place.

Oh how wonderful to have traveled again! I enjoyed the plane ride, saw new places and met new people. It was very interesting but most of all, truly rewarding.

3 years back, in 1994, I resigned from the same Company I had been with since 1987 in order to do some community service in my town , “pro bono”, “gratis”. It was a selfless experience which, interestingly, had brought some  sense of fulfillment and heavenly peace. I was happy!

The trip  to Azerbaijan  was of a Divine Providence, I know.

I could only be thankful for the love He always gives. He is great!

(Romans 8:28)

“All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose

Penniless First Trip to America

IMG_4653

The sky was bright and the clouds were floating like white cotton balls in the air. The sun was up in the horizon as the chopper we were on was on its way to the oil pipeline project offshore of New Orleans. It was morning of February 1998.

“I am in America!” , I said to myself.  Thank God, it was a very beautiful sunny day!

It was the best time to converse with the Lord on my mind during the trip. I was grateful but gently  asked Him why He had allowed my pocket money to be lost in Amsterdam Schipols airport during transit. It was all the money I’ve got.

In my heart He said, “ It’s okay! You have nothing  in your pocket yet  you have entered America !”

It has become possible then to travel without money after all!

Isaiah 55. “Hey there! All who are thirsty, come to the water!
Are you penniless? Come anyway—buy and eat!……”

“…..I’m making a lasting covenant commitment with you,
the same that I made with David: sure, solid, enduring love.”

At Dawn in Papua New Guinea

The sun was shining bright across the sea early this  morning!

It was so good  watching  it  slowly  rising from the horizon.

The  orange background began becoming golden !

The scene brought  back home memories of  younger days.

At  dawn one could hear cocks crowing , announcing the start of a new day!

Squeaking sounds of water pump seemed to have said, “Here is water , it’s free! Take as much as you want! Unlimited!.

The pets and the plants were joyful! They knew someone would look after them too.

And this is life!

This is a day, not just any other day!

A precious time greatly offered from the loving heart of God.

For you.

May we be grateful to Him ? Thank God!

My Wife Reached The Summit of Mount Sinai And She Felt Blessed

God called Moses up Mount Sinai and gave him the Ten Commandments.

Most probably today, the tablet would be a “touch screen” and any one of the commandments may be easily searched by Google!!!(ha ha ha)

Anyway, God by His grace had blessed my wife Melba to see by  herself , reached the summit of Mt Sinai and came down obviously  happy and fulfilled…The trip to the Holy land was indeed a gift!

Today, perhaps, she may  want to say- ” It’s okay if one could not get there! There is a burning bush too right in one’s  backyard!

And the Ten Commandments? They are all written in everyone’s heart. We carry them everyday . So we sum up the Commands -Walk with  Lord at all times and relate  with the people around us.Life is for loving isn’t it?

Luke 10:27

“He answering, said: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with thy whole heart, and with thy whole soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind: and thy neighbour as thyself.”

Deuteronomy 6:4-9

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one.[a] Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”

Childhood memories….

God is so good to have made our childhood a happy one! We were fit to climb trees, jumped over the walls, carried each other, ran the race, swam in the pond, bathe under the rain, flew against the strong winds, built paper boats & paper airplanes, made tin can cellphones, played with dogs,  chased butterflies….

We crawled on the ground, slept on the grass, watched the clouds during the day and the stars and the moon at night, greeted the sunrise in the early morning….

Those happy moments….They were enjoyed because G-d cared enough and gave   us friends too…and all throughout He has been  with us. How could we easily forget?

Isaiah 55:12

“For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
